Uncle John,
It is interesting to get back in touch with you after all these years (20-25?) and see that you are still building fireplaces (and much more).
I remember a fireplace in your house made of glass marbles. Sticks out in my head because it was so unique. Always thought it would melt.
Those glass marbles were a constant reminder of you. Ended up firing most of the ones you gave to us out of slingshots to hear them whistle off into the forest. But I still have some.
Thanks for letting me see this website. I am impressed with your work.
Scott

Not sure why you have an interest in me. But that's okay. That photo is a rare dressed up version of me. Most of the time, I wear black jeans and work shirts for my job or jeans and a t-shirt on the farm.
I have a 25 year-old disabled son who lives with me. He takes most of my spare time. I work full time as an assistant manager at a local retail store. I like to take digital photoes and create my "masterpieces" for display. I also like to write fiction and non fiction stories. I really don't go out. Maybe to Sherman to watch a movie and eat out with my son once in a while. I also recently lost a front tooth and when I smile there is a noticable gap. I haven't had the time or the funds get it taken care of. I am also about 20 lbs. overweight. I just wanted to be upfront and honest with you. Anything else you might need to know, please feel free to e-mail me. CLS

Subject fireplace hearth reduction to abt 2"

Sorry for driving you nuts with phone messages to 3 phone numbers. Gene Gohlke gave 2 numbers, found the Lewisville number on this site. I am going to have the carpet in my den replaced with laminate. My fireplace one of the vent-less gas types, so no embers to worry about. I would like to have the brick hearth (which extends about 2 feet into the room, 6 inches high from floor, maybe 5 feet across) cut back to about 2 inches all around. The mantel side wood sits on the brick, thus wishing to leave something still there. Will laminate up to the new brick face.
I will really appreciate your doing this job. My cell 940-453-0308 house 940-387-6384 Denton. Jim

John, I have been looking at your past work. I really could learn some stuff from you. I would love to know how you did the apartment pillars and arch. Nice work!
